Final Semester of WSU

I haven't posed a while ... go figure, but a lot has went on from my last post. In April 2014 I managed to obtain my drivers license and get my dream car (Mustang) however in October I was in a car accident and totaled it. :( But I was fortunate enough to be safe and get a car I feel safer in and love driving, a 2005 Jaguar X Type. I have always been told I wouldn't be able to drive, graduate from college, etc. Well May 2, 2015 my fear of not graduating college becomes reality. I have already registered to graduate. I have talked to companies for possible careers after I graduate which is a step I thought would never happen. One other big achievement I have always wanted since I was initiated  into Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity was having the honor of receiving a little so I could be their big. This semester I received a little, Cory Riley. 2015 will bring in new life for me needless to say since I will start a career. I have grown so much as an individual and am so thankful for all God has blessed me with. I am so excited to see what is to come in 2015.

Roller Coster

This blog is to show people how often we take advantage of the small things in life and we don't even know we do. In the past two weeks I have had a "roller coster" experience. Two weeks ago I was given the "okay to get my license". People that don't have epilepsy don't realize how luck they are just to get to drive. The very next day I got a job at WSU. So here I am with everything going so well and nobody is going to stop me. Well I was torn this week has been a nightmare. As I arrive on campus Tuesday morning I find out that my fraternity brother who is my twin is in the hospital. I went to the hospital that evening all to find out that he has a brain aneurism and the first surgery failed and the aneurism almost popped which would have killed him if it did. Seeing him that day was so hurtful, yet so good. They go and try another procedure tomorrow but it is very severe and he only has 4 cm of space before it will burst. I am so proud of my brothers and associates ever since he has been there there has always been at least 1 person in ICU with him. This is very hard for all of us brothers and I can't believe how close this has brought us.

UPDATE: Well as they postpone the surgery we have to wait a day but AB is doing well and texting me. He is very positive, so we're going to keep it that way! :)

Lessons...

Being an adult comes with a lot of responsibilities and one of the most important is owning up to your actions. People will be there to support you, but you have to own up to all and i mean ALL of your actions. I have learned this and it has been hard. Nobody said life was easy, it does come with it's challenges thats for sure. I have struggled a lot of them and still do get challenged. I have found one thing thats for sure and that's follow your heart. Do what your heart tells you is right. I have overcome many obstacles in my life people never thought I could. I am so proud of myself and the choices I have made. People may not think I have made the right choices, but I'm following my heart. Sure some of them have went bad but that makes me learn something from that mistake. I love who I have become and will continue to grow and develop. I have met amazing people and it's because we share common interests and have a bond. Thats just one example of being an adult is making choices for yourself. I had to ask myself do I want to be friends with this person? I am proud of every choice I have made and wouldn't regret any of them. I have recently met a friend of mine that we have became very close with each other and have a lot in common and someday we could be best friends hopefully. I just wanted to post this because I needed to show some lessons I have learned in life since becoming an adult.

WSU 2011-2012

Well, as this year comes to a close I am so sad to say goodbye to a really fun school year at Wright State. I have had one amazing year and enjoyed it all. I have grown so much as an individual just from having the family and friends I have today. First off I want to thank my family for being there for me and supporting me the whole way. I was a little nervous starting this school year. I had amazing experiences though. Fall quarter I worked really hard and raised my GPA and got it off to a good start along with being Vice President of Hamilton Hall. After working extremely hard and spending most of my time in the library I raised my GPA high enough to get into The College of Education and Human Services. After I was accepted into my college winter quarter I continued to work hard. I even got involved in a fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau. I have had a blast to get to know them and hang out with them. I also made an achievement I never thought I would ever make; I made Dean's List with the GPA of 3.67. I am extremely proud and to top that off I was so excited to get a call from Residence Services offering me a Resident Assistant Position for 2012-2013 school year. I will be in Forest Lane Apartments next year. That is just one step closer to achieving my dream job of becoming a Community Director. My CD, Jen has inspired me to keep working hard to achieve that dream. Speaking of my involvement in Residential Life I was inducted into National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) and that is a rare honor only the top 1% of residential leaders are inducted. I am also Philanthropy and Sprit Chair for CAACURH Bid Team 2013. My neighbor and good friend Cindy found a job online at University College as an Office Assistant and suggested I applied and I did. I was thrilled to get the position and I love my job. So as you can see this year has been a memorable one. I also have had some amazing friends! Chris and Cortney we have been really good friends since freshman year and I know we all are completely dorks at times such as going mud fighting, going on random drives, going to dayglow together, etc. I know you guys are some of the best friends I have had here at WSU and I hope we stay friends forever. Megan N. I can't say enough we have had our rough times and I am glad you are my "sister". Kourtni I wish you were here I think we could have so much fun and be closer, but I am glad we are friends. Jen I can't thank you enough. You have been my CD for 2 years now and have inspired me more than you'll ever know. I will miss you a lot but I won't be far so I will stop and see you next year. I will always be involved in Residence Life because of you. So keep doing what you’re doing because you’re great at it. :) And I will miss the HAM! Katie, I don't know what to say we are trouble together and we can always find a way to laugh. Congrats on graduating! You better stop back and see me. :) Justin, you have been such a good RA and a good friend I will see you next year I'm sure. Brandon we have been friends since our freshman year and I think we will still stay friends so stay in touch even though you will live off campus next year. Dan, oh Dan you have been fun to hang around and I am glad we both got RA positions next year. Nae Nae! Oh your crazy, and you know that, but you are so much fun to be around and lastly my friend Janae. Janae you are so much fun to be around and have lunch with. I am glad we had the chance to meet and you better run for Community Council next year you'll do great. I know I missed some of my friends, but this would be way too long if I mentioned everyone so I'm sorry I couldn't mention you but I would like to thank you for being my friend and hanging out with me. I can't wait till next year when and see what it has in store for my future and me. See you all next year as a Junior and an RA!

College as a SOPHOMORE...

I haven't wrote in awhile so I thought this would be a good time to do so. I am about to go back to school and I had a very successful quarter at WSU!  I ended my quarter with a 3.0 GPA and a 2.7 Cumulative GPA. I became a Sophomore and was accepted into the College of Education and Human Services.
After working my butt off I finally got my GPA up. I am now dating a girl named, Rachel we have been dating for about 2 months now and she is very sweet. I am so happy I found a girl like her. I am going to work just as hard this quarter so my GPA can keep coming up. I have now got a job at the WSU bookstore and am working there quite a bit. I'll keep this blog going up to date as much as I can!

Start of Sophomore Year ... Going good!!!

Well, I have had a really good start to my Sophomore year. I was also voted Vice President of Hamilton Hall. I an staying busy, clearly. I am also having fun though, but also concentrating on my studies. After fall quarter I will be a considered a sophomore by credits and will be accepted by the college of education and human resources. I am very excited to see what will happen in my future. I have came a long way and I know I am very successful. I am going to try to post at least once more this quarter so stay in touch.

Summer 2011

Well Summer is Starting to come to a close very fast I move back into Hamilton Hall at WSU in about a month. I have had a great Summer so far and enjoyed every little bit of it. I went to Miami, FL with some great friends and had a blast. Spent too much money though. I have been working a lot this Summer I think I have worked more than any other Summer at Young's. I also work as an Orientation Leader at WSU. That has been an experience seeing some of the parents and students come through. Some of the parents are just so rude though. I also just hit my 2 year mark at Young's it doesn't seem possible that I have been there that long! Lindsey is getting ready for fair and then after that I will be packing and getting ready to move back into WSU. Summer goes by so fast, but it has been filled with great memories and although it is about over I look forward to seeing my friends at WSU again. So this will be my last post before School starts back up most likely. Keep in touch!

First year at Wright State University...

Wow...First year of college is now officially finished. I had a rough start, but once I got adjusted to college I was on track. I have made so many friends here at WSU. I know there have been good and bad times with us, but we have became closer and closer. Coming in as a freshman to WSU living in Hamilton Hall I was so excited, but yet scared at the same time. I got involved right away. I joined our community council and ran for South Representative and received the position.I even got to go to NACURH which is a conference at Western Illinois University and I had a blast. . :) Since fall quarter was a horrible quarter for me considering I had a bad roommate, got bed bugs, and my grades slipped a bit I didn't enjoy college much in the fall. During winter I had a little bit better experience. I was then living in a triple dorm so I had 2 roommates one of which I got along with for awhile, towards the middle and end I wanted to just leave but I stuck it out and he ended up leaving WSU. Going into Spring quarter I was unsure of how to feel since I didn't have very good fall or winter quarters. I had finally got some real friends on the floor now. I knew nothing worse could happen. I had found two very good friends that I gotten along with great fall and winter, Brandon T. and Najee W. (my roommate winter and spring quarter). Spring quarter we had two new residents move on our floor. I met one of them going to do their laundry and was unsure of the guy. So I got to know him and his roommate very well. I got to know one of them so well I would consider him one of my best friends, Jordan Washburn. We hang out a lot and he is like my brother. His roommate Nick I consider one of my very close friends. He also hangs out with me quite a bit and is like my brother. I know that Brandon, Najee, Jordan, and Nick have changed my college career and we have all became very close I don't know what I would do without them sometimes. Being in college has changed me majorly. I can't even explain it. I have also gained one very close friend that I have knew since fall. Her name is Megan. Megan is like a sister to me. We had a rough friendship to start off and we just hung in there and I am now her Personal Asst. She has been there for me no matter what, I could go to her room at 3 AM and she wouldn't care. She is a great person and has a big heart. I also have met some good friends that I have had a lot of fun with we may not be as close as the people listed above, but they are very close. Cortney, Ashley and Chris. We have had some wild adventures, but a lot of fun. These people are so much fun to be around some of them we had our good and bad times, but we pull through them. It is amazing how many friends I have made here. I have also got involved in some great organizations and got some great jobs including Orientation and First weekend leader this Summer and Fall. These are some memories I will never forget and I would like to thank each and everyone of you. BUT most of all I would like to thank my family and God for having my back no matter what. I love you all. Thanks for a great year and I hope to see you next fall if not this summer!

Finishing up first year in college!

Well...I just started my Spring quarter and that means in a few months I will have completed my first year of college. :) I am really excited for this quarter. I am getting into my major classes. I have one education class I actually get to teach Hispanic kids. That was really interesting (but in a good way). I am meeting a lot new people and having a blast. I am getting an apartment next year with my neighbor. It's actually a funny story with me and my neighbor. My neighbor also has epilepsy and it just so happens that he sees the SAME doctor, SMALL WORLD! We are really good friends, if not best friends. I am so excited. There have been people (teachers) who have told me I wouldn't make it through high school in time unless I went to the career center. I proved them wrong! :) Then I came to college and was told that I would have to go to a community college at first because I couldn't make it at a 4-year college. Just to make it through year one proves I can make it hear at WSU. I hate it how people judge before they even get to know a person. I also have a job on campus and am doing school and succeeding. I also lost one roommate, Blake. He is going into coast guard. So it is me and Najee left. I am still having fun though. I am also still on community council and having a blast with it. I will soon do relay for life. I cant wait! :) I will try to update more, but no guarantee I will. Most likely I will considering my classes are a bit easier though.

Start of Winter quarter...

Well...WINTER quarter has now started. Two new roommates, new classes and such. I am getting along so much better than the old roommate. I am working harder this quarter too. I have got the go ahead from my dr. to start driving so I am happy. I am enjoying weight training also. I am hoping I will look great for spring break, not that I don't look good. I would really like a six or even a four pack. I'll keep up to date on how I'm doing. :)

The College Life!

Well...I've been in college about five weeks and am doing really well! I have a 3.6 GPA in writing class and my writing teacher loves reading my papers. I also am have some fun as well. My roommate isn't too bad he's doesn't have a lot of common sense. We don't hang out as often as I'd like. :/ I am meeting new people and making new friends. :) I am running for Student Government also. I have a good feeling about this so I really hope I get the position. It would make me really happy. :D I do wish I could get some closer friends but it may take some time. Who knows? For the most part it is much better than high school!!!People don't judge one here. I did get on RCA as the South Rep. for Hamilton Hall. :) I am pretty excited about that. College life goes so much faster than high school. It seems as you get older the faster the years go by. I don't know why. I do go home some weekends and I know mom and dad don't mind at all. I'll try to keep this page updated as much as I can!

Certain Times You Just Want To Scream, Yell, Be Alone, Be Happy, Be funny...How about just a CRAZY LIFE!

Well I just turned the big 1 8 about a week ago...December 19, 1991. I can't believe how fast it has went! I had a great party got clothes, money, and some little stuff...later on that week we had Christmas of course. It went well also I got some very good presents that my parents did not have to get me but they do it because they love me. A couple days ago my sister had to go get a dress for winter ball..I will NEVER shop with her even if someone paid me to! She took 5 hours to find a dress...it's not prom she doesn't have to spend that much time!!!!!!!! Well from there I thought since she got to go shopping I should get to go to get some of my gift cards spent. That hasn't happened yet...it sometimes seems like I am not much when it's Lindsey's way or the highway. But I know thats not true. Our parents treat us the same maybe not all the time but most of the time! It's not like I get more clothes or hunting gear...etc. I work for my money right now and I am also older so of course I am going to get a little more expensive gifts for Christmas but she will get more gifts than me. But its moments like what one sibling gets is how it's going to be sometimes and you just get tired of it you want to show some kind of emotion. Well...it is almost 2010 and that will for sure be a new start for me. I will be graduating, going to college, etc. Well I hope to be on here soon but who knows with my CRAZY life!

Growing up...

Well, I got a job this summer at Young's. I have a blast working there and I get paid for it too. I am getting ready to turn 18 soon. Then I will be graduating June 5th. It's very sad that I will be going to college in the fall of 2010. But on the other hand it's happy, it will show that I have worked my way into the future. I will be going to college after I graduate. I would like to go into early childhood education or software developer. I have had less seizures and hoping this is the medication that will take my epilepsy away. People seem to be living in fantasies all the time. Their life just seems so perfect. I wish some people would come to realize this is the real world and come out of their fantasy. I don't know what will happen in this world but who does? Some people think I just have money given to me. I work for my money I own a business and work for one and I also work at home. Growing up teaches you so many things you can do with you life. It teaches you good and bad things. We want everyone to learn the good things, sure we mess up here and there but we work things out. Well that will be all for now.

The Best Times in Your Life...

The best times in your life may be all different times. I have learned a lot in High School and a lot of my best friends from elementary are still in my class! They hit middle school and decided they would leave me out in the dust, yea we are still friends but not like a friend, friend that would take you to the movies and do fun stuff with you! I have fought it through though and tried to find new friends and right now I a not sure what friends I should trust my best friend that I know will always be beside me lives in North Carolina(N.C.) and he is a great friend. I have had trouble finding friends because of my epilepsy and not only that the small town I live in. I will even sometimes run home and go up to my room and just cry it out. I hate not having like 3 friends. People don't realize how hard my life is!!! They will beg me to do something for them and I have to say yes because they drive me crazy and finding time to do whatever they ask. One of my friends is my cousin Steph, she is ALWAYS there when I need her the most! They say High School is the best years of your life, but I have to disagree. I think High School is the worst part of your life for some people. I know when I go to college in the fall of 2010 I will find some awsome friends! Laugh, Live, LIFE

The 3 L's I like to refer to, Laugh, Live, and LIFE! Those are one of the many things in life you need to do. Life to me is trying your best, even if you do not succed! "If you do try you will succed" that is one of my favorite quotes because if you do try most likly you will succed. Yea as a teenager we ALWAYS do our best, even if our parents don't belive we are! You all were teens once and knew what it was like but, they push us so hard that way we will understand life and we will succed in our life! I will be 18 this December and I still do not know all the way what I want to be, I know a teacher of some sort. I have to know it is like when your in 1st grade and your teacher asks you what do you want to be when you grow up? I said I want to be a Dr. but I know now I am not going to do that. So I know I am going through life every day because my parents push me to go through it! I think of it as this long tunnel I'm almost at the end but not yet and I shouldn't be. When I am a senior or going into my senior year I should be at the end and going out into the open world. I will be 18 and I will have control over my life, yea my parents will give me a little push every now and then but I know I will make it. If you think of when a bird leaves the nest from its mother, now the bird is on its own! I am still in the nest and I know I will have left the nest by the time I turn 18 because I will have to. I will be going to college and not staying at home with my parents, I will be in the real world! But until that time comes I will do my best for my parents and when that time comes I will do my best for me so I can succed! "If you try you will succed"! Another good quote is on the top of this page "Always reemember the best things in LIFE"! My parents kept on saying "Justin you can get you Varsity "C" in golf just do your best" and I did my best and I earned my varsity "C". So thank you mom & dad & lindsey and the rest of my family for beliving in me!

Belive...

Well I know Christmas is coming and my Birthday!!!Yeah! I can't wait till my birthday and this year it is kind of weird, we get out of school on my Birthday so I am happy about that! It's a good Birthday present. But Christmas is on it's way and my Aunt Carol is coming December 16th all the way from Colorado(CO). Christmas is not about getting presents, it's about how Christ died on the cross to save our lives and we celebrate his Birthday. Yea we all give to each other but the point is to celebrate Christ's Birthday! We all love the family that we have or come in to see you and if you think about it, it is a gift to see our family. Some people don't even have a family! I know everyone likes listening to the Christmas music. That is always fun to do especially when you decorate the Christmas tree!

The Best Things in Life...

Thanksgiving is coming and soon it will be christmas and I just think I should tell you some of the best things in life that have happened in my life. I am very lucky to have a family that loves me a ton. I have epilepsy and the thing I go through I wish I didn't but my parents are always right by my side. I know they would do anything for me! I got to go to the National FFA Convention and see Taylor Swift and James Otto this year. If you want to see some awsome videos go to youtube and look up JustinH47 and you can see them! Also, I am thankful for my Best Friend in N.C. Haynes, I didn't really know him 5 years ago but now we are best friends! I also earned my varsity letter(C) this year and I can't thank my family and coach for beliveing in me. I have also got to be in 2 out of 3 plays at my school this year which has been a blast! Of course I can't list all of the things I am thankful for that would be more than just a web page, but these are the main things.
